So I know y’all won’t hold it against a man for not bloggin’ after a 50 hour drive home from Seattle, will you? I didn’t think so. Y’all are so understanding.
So yes, we did the 2,452 miles from Seattle to my doorstep. A little stir crazy, but not too much worse for wear and tear. Seattle show sucked a kangaroo dong. I love Seattle. I love the folks that came to support us in Seattle. Hell I even liked the bartender and the waitress at the club, but everything else about the evening was deplorable. Snooty, yappin’ ass people who PAID to get in. Maybe times is a different for those upscale, high falootin’ folks out there, but I’m damn sure not gonna PAY to come into a bar and run my damn mouth the whole time. We all hated it. Hated for us, but more for those of you that came for the show. Please don’t hold it against us. We tried to be great. We tried to enjoy ourselves, it just didn’t work. Luckily there will be some other northwest dates announced soon for later in the year. How ’bout we all have a little rock and roll make up sex then? Deal? Deal.
On a much, much, much, much, much brighter note, Moscow, IDAHO……..killer show! Yep, I said it. Moscow, IDAHO was phenomenal! Many thanks to all the kind folks who brought us in and took such great care of us. We do truly hope to come through again next summer. The weather was perfect, the scenery amazing, people warm and friendly. Just like their late night bagel sandwiches! Can’t wait to come back and try the Sleestack next time.
Had a blast in Nashville for the show on Wednesday. A man couldn’t ask for a much better night weather wise. Things tend to skew a little humid down here in late July, but the other night had a breeze and ended up being just above tolerable. Got to see lots of familiar faces and actually spend some time with folks this time. It was nice. Nashville shows just seem to get away from us sometimes, but this one was a pleasure. It was the first show that my little boy has gotten to come to and that was a total trip. To look out and see his face all big eyed and confused as to why his old man is up above everyone yelling and then him looking around like, “..why are all these people here…what are they clapping about????” Pretty surreal. I think all in all he enjoyed it. It was great playing with Dan again. I’m hoping we’re gonna have him out on some other shows throughout the year.
Spent the last couple of days getting a few things together for the new album. I’ve got to get Ken and Charlie copies of the songs before we leave town. After coming back and listening to roughs of some of these tracks I’m now officially excited as hell about the new album. Siggi, and Blade and I have really been getting things tight on the road. That coupled with the other folks we’re gonna bring in to round out the ‘band’ on the album is gonna make for what I think is a helluva record. I’ll of course keep y’all posted as that goes along.
I suppose that’s all for now. Hope we’ll see a bunch of you this week as we make our way back up and down the eastern seaboard.
Be well.
