So things were getting better in physical therapy. I was given the ability to bear weight on my left leg again. Then Saturday night one of the screws in my knee punctured and came through my skin. A bit nasty. I made a couple of trips to the ER and will be going in early tomorrow to have the hardware removed. Hopefully my kneecap will be solid enough to not have to put anything else back in. If not, we’ll try again. They say it shouldn’t set back the recovery much. I’m hoping that’s true. So bright and early tomorrow we’ll get it taken care of.
In the last few weeks I’ve finally gotten around to listening to the work we’d done in the studio before the accident. We’d done WAY better than I remembered. We’d gotten more done than I recalled. It was really inspiring and found me getting back into writing and working on songs. We’re hoping(key word HOPING) that we can go back to the studio and work starting in February. I’m trying to get my voice back. It’s still just weak at this point. Hopefully as this writing/playing progresses it’ll keep coming back. Still no real idea on when we can get back on the road. But these will all be good steps at trying to work towards that. I’ll keep y’all posted as more news comes in. Cross your fingers for strong patellas tomorrow!
