Last night was great. It was fun to get to go and just watch a show. I’d love to tell you that the place was totally packed for the show, but it wasn’t. It was a small crowd. However, the Trews rocked their asses off! The way it should be. You can’t try and be the best band around only on the good nights. You’ve got to try and bring it every single night. Sometimes I think maybe we’re the only band that understands that. Then the Trews go and prove me wrong. Thanks ya’ll. You made me proud.
Proud moment number 2…..our old pal Mr. Marc Broussard is in town working on some stuff. We hooked up yesterday and brought him to the show with us last night. About 4-5 songs in I look for him and he’s gone. I thought for a second maybe he’d just had enough and headed out. No sir. He’s at the merch table buying, yes, BUYING at t-shirt and a cd. That’s what the fuck I’m talking about! See a good band, support them!
We all went out afterwards and had a great time. Good to see old friends and new friends all coming together through music. This business we’re all in is really a crappy mess. It’s full of people who get paid to screw folks like us and folks like you over for a living. We all meet two faced slimy pigs everyday that will screw you over for a nickel or stab you to advance their own career. Then, these friends of ours last night help renew everything that I believe in in the first place. Aw, now I’m all teary and shit. Point is, it was cool.
Now we’re preparing for mama Hoge to make these Canadian boys a real country dinner. Pot roast, potatos, carrots, tomatos, fried corn, mac and cheese, turnip greens, cheese grits, rolls. Hell Broussard’s even bringing pie! We’re eating at 7. Hope we’ll see you……..
