Atlantic City…..

Sounds like the title to a Bruce Springsteen song huh? Day off today in Atlantic City. Played last night at the Borgata with Squeeze. Many thanks to their crew in particular for taking such good care of us. I didn’t know what to expect from their crowd but it was really good. The place was packed and the people were WAY into their music. I didn’t know a whole lot about the band other than the radio hits, but the show was cool. Nice Englishmen doing smart catchy well written songs. A less frantic Elvis Costello kinda vibe. I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to seeing the show again when we play with them on Monday. The response to our performance was lots better than I expected to. We got a few ‘….it’s too loud’ looks, but, fuck ‘em. It’s rock and roll. Lots of people from in and around the Philly area it seemed like so I hope that’ll spill over for when we roll back through World Cafe Live. As ‘employees’ of the Borgata, we’ve gotten passes to eat in the employee cafeteria and this my friends is KICK ASS!! It’s not some b.s. cafeteria it’s like heaven on a hot plate! So here we are all day and all night roaming through the back hallways of a casino eating and drinking our asses off. We snuck in last night to see Bruce Willis and Joe Walsh(hilarious I know) but they were finished. Darn the luck! So we just went back to the cafeteria and ate more. Today, we’ve already eaten twice and will more than likely hit it again here soon before going and spendiing all the money we’ve saved on food at the roulette table. Smart, yes I know.
Now we’re off the the boardwalk hoping to find a ’shoot the geek’ stand. (this is a long story for another time, but trust me it’s fun. ps….no real geeks are harmed during said activity) Hope all is well in y’all’s collective worlds and we’ll hope to see you soon.
